Solenoid Valve Basic Troubleshooting and Repair

  1. The solenoid valve does not act when energized

No voltage, excessive voltage drop or incorrect voltage.

The coil is burnt, and the coil resistance is short circuit or open circuit.

Inlet pressure too low to meet minimum operating differential pressure requirements (for pilot-operated configurations)

The flow is too small, especially for large flow valves.

Impurities are stuck or blocked.

Missing parts or parts damaged, corroded.

Solenoid valve parts installed incorrectly or out of place.

  1. After the solenoid valve is pressurized, it is found that it leaks or does not reset.

Impurities cause blockage or jamming, resulting in the switch not being in place.

The inlet pressure is too small or too large to meet the differential pressure requirement.

The flow is too small to push the stem or piston into place in an instant, especially with high flow solenoids.

The direction of the inlet and outlet of the solenoid valve is reversed.

For 3, 4, 5-way pilot solenoid valves, the air outlet must be connected to a cylinder or plugged with a wire plug to form a closed circuit.

Missing parts, scratched or damaged seals.

  1. There is a lot of noise when the solenoid valve is energized

Impurities are blocked or stuck, so that the spool does not move in place.

The power supply voltage is incorrect, and AC and DC are generally not interchangeable.

The shield ring is damaged or peeled off (AC construction).

Parts are deformed or loose, or do not fit properly.

  1. Use and maintenance of solenoid valve

1) Regular maintenance 1-2 times a year is the best method for reliable operation and long life of the solenoid valve. The following conditions inside the solenoid valve are the reasons that hinder the normal operation of the solenoid valve and shorten its life: the quality of the medium used changes; rust occurs in the connecting pipe; the oil in the air compressor is oxidized, resulting in carbon particles, tar and other debris mixed into the pipeline; pipeline; There are debris such as dust particles and dirt.

2) When the solenoid valve is put into operation after being installed or out of use for a long time, it is necessary to pass the medium to test several times, and then it can be put into operation after it works normally;

3) When the steam valve is put into operation again after being out of use for a long time, the condensed water should be drained and then actuated several times, and it can be put into operation after it works normally;

4) Before maintenance, the power supply must be cut off and the medium pressure must be removed;

5) The coil assembly should not be disassembled;

6) When disassembling the solenoid valve for cleaning, solutions such as kerosene and trichloroethylene can be used.
